Randall Fields Jr is a graphic designer living in Birmingham, Alabama and is obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Art Studio with concentration in Graphic Design from University of Alabama at Birmingham. His design experience includes practices creating logos, collages and typography focused works. He is proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Work experience includes working for UAB Spark Lab as a Graphic Design Consultant. As an avid music listener, many of his works are musically influenced. He also has an interest in photography and focuses on nature photography and human portraiture. Ever since a young age, a constant goal of his was to create things that are pleasing to the eye. He has always been drawn to paintings, sculpture, fashion, interior design and architecture which strengthened his designer eye and attention to detail. His attention to detail even manifests in every area of life including how he expresses himself through fashion.
Artist Statement
My graphic work uses simple, clean designs to convey the intended message to the viewer. I usually take a variety of approaches including photography, typography, iconography, and collages to create visually appealing works. The work I create relies heavily on the use of Photoshop and Illustrator. My work is mainly image and type-based and is inspired by the world around me especially through the lens of music.
My photography work aims to capture the beauty in life around me. Whether that be beautiful scenery or the beauty of diverse human beings, I aim to capture it with an interesting perspective. There can be beauty found in the most ordinary objects or in places that are not commonly thought of and the right shot can shine a new light on an otherwise dull environment.
